Is Jenny Craig Right For Me? Diet, Food and Coach Review

Are you considering signing up for Jenny Craig? Are you worried you’ll be able to stick with it, if it will fit your lifestyle, and if the food is good.

Good! You are asking all the right questions. This is a commitment that you will be making over the next 1 – 12 months. You’re going to be in a relationship so do your homework and make a decision that’s right for you.

GREAT FOOD

What surprised me most was how good the food tasted. I had tried Nutrisystem a few years back and there was so much dried food, the menu got very bland and pasty quickly.

Jenny Craig was the opposite. The meals were really really good. I was concerned it would be like airplane food. (For those of us old enough to remember when airlines actually gave you a meal). The cuts of meat were always tender. The pasta and egg dishes always had the right amount of seasoning. I was never hungry.

My favorites were:
· Salisbury Steak

· Penne pasta with cream sauce and vegetables

· Chicken Pot Pie

There was only one thing I couldn’t handle, and that was the chicken cranberry salad. It wasn’t bad, I just didn’t like the taste. My only other feedback would be the adhesive on the frozen vegetable cups was too light. The plastic film cover would come off and I’d sometimes have green beans all over my freezer.

GREAT FOR IBS

I had avoided diets for a long time. Having IBS, I try to stick to a very bland diet – lots of bread, cheese, and starches. My trigger foods are aspartame, sucralose, stevia and carrageenan. Almost all ‘diet’ plans I looked into used one of these ingredients.

During my first consultation I told my coach about my trigger foods. The next day she had gone through EVERY ingredient in EVERY Jenny Craig meal and put together a meal plan that I could eat. No other diet company I had talked to had a full suite of foods that could accommodate my IBS allergies.

15 POUNDS IN 12 WEEKS*

I lost 15 pounds in 12 weeks. I was so excited I decided to walk through a crowded mall in a bikini and tell people how much I loved it. Check out the video!

I will not lie. It was hard. I was a snacker and I LOVE chips and salsa and a good margarita. I slipped up a few times a week, but Jenny Craig tells you – that’s okay. You are human. Pick it back up tomorrow.

YOU WILL LOVE YOUR COACH

My coach, Carrie, became my life line through this process. Having a person to talk to each week that held you accountable was key for me. She taught me valuable phrases like “Think in a Jenny Way” or “Losing weight is hard, being overweight is hard. Pick your hard.” I always had her in my head on long trips.

She was inspirational, extremely knowledgeable, and firm.
